Hurricane Party Cocktail

Only days after the unexpected 5.9 earthquake shook us up, we now find ourselves taking cover as Hurricane Irene violently beats and batters us over here on the east coast.  As you stock up on necessities and prepare for the worst, don't forget to make a stop at the liquor store (or if you're like me, make sure your wine rack is stocked).  For those of you planning on having a hurricane party or just want to enjoy a new drink for the occasion, I give you... (drum roll please):

THE HURRICANE COCKTAIL!

Ingredients:

2 oz light rum
2 oz dark rum
2 oz passion fruit juice
1 oz orange juice
juice of half a lime
1 Tbsp simple syrup
1 Tbsp grenadine
orange slice and cherry for garnish

Preparation:

1. Squeeze juice from half a lime into shaker over ice
2. Pour the remaining ingredients into the shaker
3. SHAKE (like the earthquake baby)
5. Garnish with a slice of orange and a cherry

Now drink up and most of all BE SAFE!
